§ Mr. ButlerParticulars of the settlement arrived at for ending the controversy between the United States Government and His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom concerning the status of Canton and Enderbury Islands in the Phoenix Group are contained in the Anglo-United States Exchange of Notes of the 6th April, 1939, the text of which will be found in the White Paper Command 5989. A British official is in residence on Canton Island.
