Mr. Mitchellasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will state the tonnage and value of watercress grown in Great Britain for the years 1936 and 1937?
§ Sir R. Dorman-SmithI regret that information is not available for a year later than 1932, when a special investigation was made as a result of which it was estimated that the annual production of watercress in England and Wales amounted to about 5,000 tons, valued in the wholesale market at approximately £180,000.
