HC Deb 15 February 1939 vol 343 cc1753-4W
Mr. Bellenger

asked the Attorney-General whether his attention has been called to a recent case at the Old Bailey when the real name of a youth, described at Kit Davidge, pleading guilty to breaking and entering premises was not disclosed at the request of prosecuting counsel, who stated that the young man was decently born and bred and had passed through a public school; and whether it was with his approval or upon instructions from the Public Prosecutor, that this request was made by prosecuting counsel?

The Attorney-General

No, Sir. This case was not one in which the Director of Public Prosecutions was concerned.
