§ Lieut.-Commander Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Air for what reason the Professional Staff Association of the Air Ministry Directorate declines to admit to membership persons entered on purely temporary appointments for a fixed period, thereby depriving the temporary staff of the benefits of negotiations which the association carries on through the appropriate Whitley Council or by negotiation with the Establishment Board of the Air Ministry?
§ Sir K. WoodThe eligibility of officers for membership of a particular staff association is a matter for that association, and while it is open to any group of officers to form their own association and apply for official recognition, steps in that direction can only be taken by the staff, and it is not a matter in which I can intervene.
