asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state the amount borrowed from the Post Office Savings Bank for unemployment insurance purposes as at 31st July, 1931, and 31st July, 1938, respectively?

Moneys from the Post Office Savings Bank invested by the National Debt Commissioners in advances to the Unemployment Fund under the Unemployment Insurance Acts amounted to about£64,500,000 at 31st July, 1931, and£53,200,000 at 31st July, 1938.
