HC Deb 09 February 1939 vol 343 cc1151-2W
Mr. Wakefield

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether be is aware of the unsatisfactory position which still exists in connection with the education of Highworth children; and whether he has yet had the opportunity to carry out his undertaking of a personal investigation?

Mr. Lindsay

I have kept myself informed on the position at Highworth. After very careful reconsideration of all the circumstances, I have come to the conclusion that this dispute between the people of Highworth and the Wiltshire local education authority is not one in which I should intervene.
