§ Mr. R. Gibsonasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the town of Kilmarnock had no street accidents resulting in death or injury during 1938; and what explanation can he give for this?
§ Mr. BurginNo persons were killed in road accidents in Kilmarnock during 1938, as against four in 1937, but the number of persons injured rose from 140 to 158. I am glad to say that the responsible authorities have adopted various measures calculated to reduce the number of accidents and they will, I trust, continue their efforts. It is, however, scarcely possible to draw reliable conclusions from the figures which I have quoted.
