§ Captain CrookshankIt is estimated that 228,214,000 tons of saleable coal were produced in Great Britain in 1938, of which 211,700,000 tons were disposable commercially. The quantity of coal exported as cargo during the year was 35,861,000 tons and foreign bunker shipments amounted to 10,489,000 tons. Complete information as to prices is not yet available, but it is estimated that during 1938 proceeds amounted to 17s. 4d. per ton disposable commercially.
