Size of classes in Public Elementary Schools in Liverpool on 31st March, 1938.
Total number of classes. Number of classes with over 40 but not over 50 on the roll. Number of classes with over 50 but not over 60 on the roll. Number of classes with over 60 on the roll.

* Of these 1,389 classes, 288 contained 50 per cent, or more pupils aged 11 years and over. The Board's limits for the maximum size of classes are 40 for classes wholly or mainly for children aged 11 years and over, and 50 for classes for children aged under 11 years.
