asked the Prime Minister whether, having regard to the altered circumstances and the necessity for the closest contact with France, His Majesty's Government will reconsider the question of the Channel tunnel, and, in particular, the question of granting permission to a public company to undertake the construction of the tunnel if the Government are not prepared to carry out the work?
