asked the Prime Minister whether he will give the figures of casualties in the Army, Navy, and Air Force during the first three months of the war; and the comparable figures for 1914?

The total number of officers and other ranks who lost their lives on active service in the three months September-November, 1939, is approximately 2,100. The corresponding figure for the months of August-October, 1914, was approximately 12,500.
