HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 c1319W
Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Economic Warfare whether Germany will continue to be allowed to export coal to Greece; and whether any arrangements are being made for the purchase by this country of the Greek tobacco crop?

Mr. Cross

The position as regards seaborne German exports of coal to Greece is that individual shipments are at present being treated according to the merits of the particular case. As regards the second part of the question, His Majesty's Government have indicated their willingness to consider making some purchases of Greek tobacco as part of a general agreement with the Greek Government on war-time trade.
