HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 c1277W
Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for War what is the position regarding Oxford graduates who are members of the Officers Training Corps; whether any action has been taken concerning them since they were called up for medical examination at the outbreak of war; and whether it is proposed to inform them that they will shortly be called up, or that they are at liberty to pursue their academic work?

Sir V. Warrender

If the hon. and gallant Member is referring to cadet members of the Officers Training Corps who were accepted by reception units as candidates for commissions, a considerable number have already been called up for training. The remainder either have been or are being informed of the approximate dates when they are likely to be required.
