HC Deb 14 December 1939 vol 355 c1278W
Mr. T. Smith

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that men in the British Expeditionary Force who did not arrive in France until after the 1st October will not get any leave until April next year at the earliest; and whether some better arrangement can be made?

Sir V. Warrender

It is hoped to arrange that men who went to France early in October shall be given leave before the end of next March.
