§ Mr. Noel-Bakerasked the Home Secretary whether it is the practice to intern German-Jewish refugees in the same camps with German internees belonging to the Nazi party; and what measures are taken to prevent the abuses to which this may give rise?
§ Sir J. AndersonSteps are taken by the Military authorities who are in charge of these camps to prevent any misbehaviour—whether it takes the form of attempts at victimisation or any other form; and, so far as concerns Germans who were resident in this country, I understand that no difficulty has resulted from political or racial differences amongst Germans accommodated in the same camp. Such difficulty as has arisen is due, I am informed, to the arrival at the camps of a number of German seamen, and arrangements are now being made to accommodate these men in separate establishments.
