HC Deb 12 December 1939 vol 355 cc1054-5W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether he will consider setting up officially organised groups of selling agencies overseas, one for each industry, in place of the existing Government Department or consular office information, which at present is the only source available?

Mr. R. S. Hudson

No, Sir. The services of Commercial Diplomatic and Consular Officers in foreign countries and of Trade Commissioners in the Empire provide information in respect of overseas markets and it is not practicable to replace them by official groups of selling agencies.
