§ Mr. ElliotThe Central Medical War Committee was formed in pursuance of the plans of the Committee of Imperial Defence and was convened immediately1056W after the outbreak of war. Its constitution, including the bodies to be represented, was based on recommendations of the Central Emergency Committee which I approved. Its function is to advise on the allocation of doctors to His Majesty's Forces and to any civilian services for which they are required in connection with the war, and generally to represent the profession in any negotiations with Government Departments affecting questions of medical personnel.
