Friend has considered the application of the Ennerdale Rural District Council for increased subsidy under the Housing 2413W (Financial Provisions) Act, 1938; and, as required by that Act, he is consulting with the Cumberland County Council in the matter. He hopes to be in a position to give his decision on the application as soon as he has received the county council's observations.
