Mr. David Adamsasked the Minister of Transport whether he has considered the copy sent from residents of Corbridge-on-Tyne of an alternative scheme for a road diversion to that proposed by the Ministry of Transport, which latter they state is not a true by-pass and would divide Corbridge into two parts, whilst injuring the amenities of the area; and whether, as the alternative scheme possesses none of these disabilities, he is giving favourable consideration to the same?
§ Captain WallaceI am considering the representations which have been made on the proposal to make an order under Section 1 (3) of the Trunk Roads Act for a by-pass to Corbridge, but I am not yet in a position to announce a decision on this case.
