HC Deb 21 April 1939 vol 346 c670W
Sir A. Wilson

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, and, if so, when it is intended to introduce the legislation foreshadowed in the Gracious Speech from the Throne to amend the Assurance Companies Acts?

Mr. Stanley

It is the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill to amend the law relating to the carrying on of the business of insurance. Owing, however, to the pressure of many other urgent matters, I am not in a position to say when it will be possible to do so.
