HC Deb 20 April 1939 vol 346 c525W
Mr. Mander

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he is in a position to state the remuneration to be paid to the regional commissioners and deputy regional commissioners in connection with the Civil Defence regional organisation?

Sir J. Anderson

No question of remuneration will arise in peace time but it is proposed that in war regional commissioners and deputy regional commissioners should be eligible to receive such salary, not exceeding £2,500 per annum and £1,000 per annum respectively, as may be decided in each case.
