§ Sir S. HoareI am not aware of any such practice. It is a condition of the payment of the Government grant in respect of motor patrol cars that the cars used must be of British manufacture; cars of foreign manufacture may occasionally be used on other classes of police work, but only in quite exceptional circumstances where a particular type of car might be needed.
