As regards the last part of the question, a sample test showed that of 2,851 Irish migrants who took out unemployment books in April, 1937, 14 per cent. qualified for benefit in the first year of residence in this country. A similar test relating to January, 1938, showed a corresponding figure of between 17 per cent. and 18 per cent.
