HC Deb 20 April 1939 vol 346 cc520-1W
Mr. Culver-well

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether, in view of the fact that Parliament votes moneys to assist the British Council and the Travel and Industrial Development Association of Great Britain and Ireland, he will ask Parliament to vote moneys for the purpose of securing publicity overseas for the industries of this country?

Mr. R. S. Hudson

Yes, Sir. Parliament is being asked to vote a sum in respect of the present financial year, in order to secure further publicity overseas in regard to the industrial achievement, enterprise and capacity of this country. The work will be entrusted to my Department and will be in the nature of national, rather 1han sectional, publicity.
