HC Deb 18 April 1939 vol 346 c198W
Mr. Edwards

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that supplies of British raw materials essential to our own rearmament are being regularly sold to countries adopting a hostile attitude; and what steps he is taking to prevent such countries being furnished with materials which may in certain eventualities be used against ourselves?

Mr. Stanley

I have been asked to reply. I could not accept as accurate the implication conveyed in the first part of the question. As regards the second part, I would refer to the answer given on the 5th April by my right hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, East (Mr. Mander).
