§ Sir G. Foxasked the Minister of Health what use is being made by the county councils of their powers to prevent wholesale cutting down of trees which contribute to the amenities of a district?
§ Mr. ElliotI assume that my hon. Friend refers to the powers conferred on Planning Authorities under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1932. These are enabling powers, and I have no detailed information as to the use that has been made of them, but if my hon. Friend has any particular district in mind I shall be glad to make inquiries.
