§ Mr. McEnteeasked the Postmaster-General the reason for the promotion to the assistant postmastership at Leeds of an officer from Wakefield who, less than a year ago, was a junior officer at Leeds; and whether he is aware that the promotion has involved the passing over of three grades, and has caused dissatisfaction and disappointment amongst the officers concerned?
§ Major TryonI am aware of the circumstances. The officer in question was selected because there was no fully qualified local officer available, and after careful consideration of various candidates from outside he was found to be the best qualified.
