HC Deb 14 November 1938 vol 341 c507W
Mr. T. Morris

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether arrangements have now been made and, if so, of what nature to increase the volume of perishable foodstuffs, especially meat, stored in cold-storage accommodation in this country; what is the present approximate total volume of such accommodation; and what proportion of it is regularly and fully used?

Mr. Stanley

No arrangements of the kind suggested in the first part of the question have been made, or are in contemplation by the Board of Trade. With reference to the second part, a comprehensive survey of the cold storage accommodation in Great Britain is in progress. Until this has been completed, I am not able to give the detailed particulars for which my hon. and learned Friend asks.
