HC Deb 14 November 1938 vol 341 c513W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Transport whether the Central Electricity Board employs disabled ex-service men for light work; and, if so, for what kind of work?

Mr. Burgin

The Central Electricity Board employs ex-service men whenever practicable. Most of the manual work, however, is unsuitable for disabled men, involving as it does the climbing of towers and working at heights on overhead lines.
