§ Mr. Messerasked the Home Secretary whether he has considered the representations of the County Councils' Association urging amending legislation to the Cinematograph Act, 1909, to secure statutory recognition of the present practice prevailing among licensing authorities in respect of the granting of licences for new cinemas before they are built; and what action he proposes to take in view thereof?
§ Sir S. Hoare:The matter has been noted for consideration in the event of legislation to amend the Cinematograph Act. 1909, but I cannot at present make any promise of the early introduction of such legislation.
