HC Deb 06 May 1938 vol 335 c1191W
Mr. Perkins

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air, whether he will give the names of the air transport companies who operate regular transport services between the United Kingdom and places outside the United Kingdom?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead:

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Barkston Ash (Colonel Ropner) on 27th April.

Mr. Perkins

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware of the arrangements for joint operation of air-transport services between Imperial Airways, Limited, and Sabina and Imperial Airways and Air France; and, if so, do these arrangements provide for pooling of profits and pooling of losses?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead:

Yes, Sir. I understand that a joint working arrangement is in force between Imperial Airways, Limited, and S.A.B.E.N.A. for the period March-October, 1938, which provides for operation to an agreed timetable of their services on the London-Brussels-Cologne route, for the joint use of certain terminal facilities and for the pooling of traffic receipts within certain limits on an agreed basis. Each Company operates its own aircraft. There is no provision for the pooling or other division of profits or losses.

No such arrangement exists between Imperial Airways and Air France.
