HC Deb 02 May 1938 vol 335 c520W
Mr. R. Gibson

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will cause experiments to be made by officials of his Department on telephone mouthpieces 48 hours after they have been used by persons suffering from tuberculosis who have coughed while speaking into the telephones, in order to determine whether active tubercle may then be found in such mouthpieces at the end of that period; and whether he has any statement to make on the subject?

Sir W. Womersley:

No, Sir. If the hon. Member would like to pursue the question further I should be pleased to send him a summary of the medical evidence on the subject.
