HC Deb 02 May 1938 vol 335 c526W
Mr. Leckie

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the undesirable character of the drinking-shops along the Jaffa-Haifa road which are served by girls of the lowest character; and whether steps are being taken to prevent British soldiers from frequenting these shops?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore:

No, Sir; my attention has not been called to the matter. If the hon. Member will put me in possession of any evidence on which his allegations are based, I will consider whether there are grounds for bringing the question to the notice of the Palestine Government.
