Such officers until their next promotion will on each new appointment continue to have the option whether they will be treated under the proposed marriage allowance scheme or under their present conditions until their next promotion. For a detailed explanation of the operation of this provision of the marriage allowance scheme I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the statement which I made in the Debate on the Report stage of the Navy Estimates last night.
