§ Sir S. HoareThe hon. Member is under a misapprehension. The Metropolitan Police precept, which has been 11d. in the £ for the last three years, has been increased by one halfpenny to11½d. for 1938–39, owing mainly to increased expenditure on pensions and buildings.
