asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many directors are on the board of the Suez Canal Company; how many are British, how many are French, how many are Dutch; and what amount of money is invested by the British Government in the Suez Canal Company?

There at 32 directorships on the Board of the Suez Canal Company, of which 19 are French, 10 British, two Egyptian and one Dutch. One of the French and one of the Egyptian directorships are at present vacant. His Majesty's Government hold 353,504 shares, of which the market value is about £55,000,000.
