§ Mr. J. Griffithsasked the Minister of Transport what road improvement schemes in the County of Carmarthen are under consideration by his Department; and whether, in view of the heavy unemployment in the eastern portion of the county he can expedite the work on these schemes?
§ Mr. BurginI have under consideration trunk road improvements in the County of Carmarthen which are estimated to cost about £50,000. I hope that work on all these schemes will begin either this or next financial year. In addition, proposals are now before me for the improvement of other roads in the county at an estimated cost of about £56,000. I can assure the hon. Member that I am sparing no effort to expedite these schemes.
