§ Mr. Turtonasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has considered the application of the Ouse (Yorkshire) Catchment Board to have included in their area as a main river the 3¾ miles of the River Rye, from its junction with the River Severn to its junction with the River Riccal; and whether he will expedite his decision, in view of the urgent nature of the work required in this district and the extent of the present burdens of the Rye Drainage Board?

Friend has considered this application for an addition to the main river of the Yorkshire Ouse Catchment Area, and has given the required notice of his intention to vary the map of the catchment area to give 1935W effect to it. My right hon. Friend cannot give any final decision in the matter until he has considered any representations that may be made to him within a period of one month.
