§ Mr. Cassellsasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now prepared to set up an immediate Government inquiry into the menace to fishing caused by basking and thresher sharks outside Campbeltown Loch off the island of Davaar?
Mr. WedderburnMy right hon. Friend is informed by the Fishery Board that so far relatively few sharks have been observed in the Firth of Clyde and that no complaints regarding them have been received from fishermen during the present year. The board's fishery officer is in close touch with the fishermen and my right hon. Friend sees no reason for taking action on the lines suggested by the hon. Member.
