Mr. StanleyTen licences have been issued during the last twelve months for the export of war material to Japan. The last was dated the 14th February, 1938. As I have previously explained, His Majesty's Government consider that it is contrary to the public interest to publish particulars of licences issued for the export of arms and ammunition to particular destinations; but the total value of the arms, ammunition and military and naval stores registered as consigned from the United Kingdom to Japan from the 1st June, 1937, to the 30th May, 1938, was £108,246.
