Mr. Edwardsasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he is aware that the Middlesbrough Education Committee has been unable to come to an agreement with Lord Furness's agent for the purchase of 12 acres wanted for the new Smeaton Street and Lawson schools, the owner's price being £5,000, and that accordingly a compulsory purchase order is being sought; and will he state what is the present rateable value of that land?
