HC Deb 21 June 1938 vol 337 c913W
Mr. Mander

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will state the circumstances under which serving officers are permitted to employ aliens in this country; and to what extent at the present time permission has been granted for the employment of German subjects and other aliens?

Mr. Shakespeare

All officers, whether naval or civil, resident in naval establishments at home are forbidden to employ aliens as domestics without Admiralty approval. Records show that in the last 18 months five applications for such permission have been received, of which three have been approved.
