HC Deb 02 June 1938 vol 336 c2256W
Mr. E. J. Williams

asked the Home Secretary whether he contemplates making special arrangements for fire-brigade services for the local authorities in close proximity to the Bridgend munition works; and, if so, what progress has been made?

Mr. Lloyd:

I understand that steps will be taken by the War Office to provide ample fire protection on the premises of the new munitions factory, when erected. In addition, arrangements will be made with the fire brigades within reach to respond to calls if their assistance should be required. As regards emergency fire brigade measures, the fact that this establishment is to be erected in the vicinity will be borne in mind in the allocation of appliances for emergency purposes.
