Captain Balfour:As stated by my right hon. Friend in the House on Tuesday last, the question of the appointment of a chairman is receiving the active consideration of the board of Imperial Airways and it is hoped that it will be possible shortly to announce the decision arrived at.
§ Mr. Perkinsasked the Secretary of State for Air whether Imperial Airways, Limited, have completed negotiations with the captains' committee at Hythe with regard to either a rise in pay or an additional allowance; and, if not, for what reason?
Captain Balfour:Negotiations between Imperial Airways and the captains' committee at Hythe have not yet been completed. I am informed that a meeting took place on the afternoon of Monday, 30th May, between the officials of the company and the captains' committee, at which the latter presented their case. It was agreed between the parties
