asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give

ment for German goods imported into this country shall be effected, but whatever the manner of payment the German authorities are under an obligation to provide 55 per cent. of the value of those goods to pay for exports of United Kingdom goods to Germany. As regards the question of payment in raw materials, I am not aware of any recent modification in the orders issued by the German Central Foreign Exchange Office prohibiting compensation business with this country.
