Mr. Woodasked the Minister of Pensions whether, in view of the fact that the balance remaining in the King's Fund, of which he is the sole trustee, is 2074W now so low as to cause concern for the future of the fund, steps will be taken to stimulate donations and bequests to the fund in view of its importance in providing for ex-service men and their dependants financial assistance in special circumstances which cannot be provided for otherwise?
§ Mr. RamsbothamIt is the case, I am sorry to say, that the resources of the King's Fund are greatly reduced. While I have from time to time taken such steps as I consider open to me to bring the Fund and its needs to public notice, I shall be grateful for any hell) in the same direction that hon. Members—particularly those who have had experience of the work of the Fund—can give me.
I may add that I caused a pamphlet describing the history of the Fund to be issued last year and I shall be happy to send any hon. Member a copy of it, together with information as to the present financial position of the fund.
