§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonThe number of persons in England and Wales working on their own account in agriculture, according to the returns published by the Registrar-General, was 147,116 in 1921 and 144,584 in 1931. Corresponding figures are not available for 1938 or any other year since 1931.
