§ Mr. Hore-BelishaDuring the six months ended 30th June there were 32,555 applicants for enlistment, of whom 20,737 were finally approved. As regards the remainder, 5,288 were rejected on medical or physical grounds, 4,498 were ineligible on other grounds and 2,032 failed to proceed with their enlistment.
