HC Deb 15 July 1938 vol 338 c1689W
Mr. W. Joseph Stewart

asked the Minister of Health whether the Wetherby Parish Council has been successful, and at what price, in acquiring for burial ground an area of 1¾ acres at Hallfield from the Gunther trustees; whether he is aware that the owners had been asking £600 for this land, besides which the council would have had to build a 10-feet wall and would have been involved in drainage costs of about £400; and if he can say what was the rateable value of this land when last occupied?

Mr. Elliot

I understand that no decision has been reached by the local authority regarding the acquisition of this land. I have no information as to its rateable value when last occupied.
