asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give a list of subsidies granted by His Majesty's Government to industries in Great Britain and the Crown Colonies since 1931?

The following list contains particulars of subsidies payable since 1st October, 1931, from public funds to industries and branches of industry in the United Kingdom. The figures include the estimated expenditure during the current year.

As regards the Crown Colonies, no subsidies to industries have been paid except in so far as assistance has been afforded through the Colonial Development Fund. Particulars of the payments out of the Fund will be found in the Annual Reports of the Committee, published as Command Papers.
